Both turn your booking confirmations into a trip you can read. The difference shows up in what the free tier covers and in what happens when you lose signal.

Tineo is a capable organizer with a real free plan, and if you want AI parsing against a connected inbox it is worth your time. The split is the plane. Petrel keeps your trip readable with no signal on every plan, including the free one; on Tineo offline access sits behind Ultra. If you fly a lot and land somewhere without data, that is the line that matters.
Your first trip is free. No account, no credit card.
