Norway Itinerary: 6 Days in Oslo, Bergen, Flåm / Aurlandsfjord-Nærøyfjord
This is the classic Norway first trip: the capital, the western fjord city, and the fjord country in between, stitched together by one of Europe's great scenic railways. Oslo opens with waterfront architecture and museums, Bergen adds a Hanseatic harbor ringed by mountains, and the Flåm valley drops you into the narrow arms of the Aurlandsfjord and Nærøyfjord.
Norway had 6 million international arrivals (2019, World Bank / UNWTO international tourist arrivals series; Norway also reports inbound tourism as commercial guest nights by residency, so counts vary by methodology). Last reviewed 2026-08-21.

Local tip: The journey is the sightseeing here. Book rail seats early in summer, keep buffer time around the fjord connection, and pack layers even in July, since weather turns fast in the mountains.
